Christian Tangø / Ny Kunstner

I am formally educated as a Journalist, from the Danish School of journalism in 1990. However, before and after my education, I have primarily worked as an artist.

Jazz-music has been one major activity, and then around 2000 I became very much engaged in painting.

My works as a painter has been shown and sold many places world-wide. Moreover, from 2010 – 2018 I lived and worked in Berlin and New York, studying, producing and exhibiting.

In 2018 I decided to return to Denmark for a number of rather private reasons. After a longer period of inner contemplation I developed the concept of “Poster-paintings” in 2021, and launched that in June 2026.

My previous works are in different collections, such as the medical company Alkabello, the Danish public pension-company ATP, the public administration for public payment “Udbetaling Danmark” and various private collectors.

For a few years I was the director of a small gallery in Aarhus, and I have exhibited in galleries such as Horsens Kunstgalleri (now Belle Art), Galerie Helth (now closed as the owner passed). Most of my works has been sold via Gallerix in Rungsted.

Specially over the past few years, I have become increasingly engaged in writing about visual arts in a critical way. So far I have published two books on art, one on art as a concept, and another on “provocational art”.
